How many days it takes to visit: 2-4 days
The Chinese say that under the sky there is nothing more beautiful than the mountains and reservoirs of Guilin, and personally I am not ready to argue with that. There is no doubt that only nature could create such beauty, having worked on its masterpiece for centuries.

As in most cities in China, Guilin is a starting point, but there are also lots to see – parks and twin pagodas. Here you can buy tickets for the ship and go on a short but unforgettable cruise along the River Lee. Before the cruise you can leave in reserve a day to explore the city. The film “Painted Veil” (2006) was filmed among the landscapes of Guilin.

Guilin Mountains and Reservoirs on 20 yuan
The 20 yuan banknote features a view of the mountains of Guilin and the Li River. By the way, three of the five places listed in the post are on Chinese banknotes. In addition to the mountains of Guilin, on 20 yuan, on a 1 yuan note is a view of Xihu Lake in Hangzhou, and on 5 yuan – Mount Huangshan.

But back to Guilin. According to research, nature is working on karst formations along the Li River so far – every year they only get higher. This is perhaps the most interesting. It turns out that the later you go to Guilin, the higher you will see the mountains.

Guilin Reservoirs
This is not a list of the most beautiful places in China. This is a list of beautiful places that compete with their beauty with the same list of points for 150-200. China is unique. In every province you will find something worthwhile. Nature reserves, tropical gardens, monumental buildings created by man, mountains, waterfalls, unforgettable landscapes. All here. China will surprise.

Do not try to cover everything in one trip – this is impossible. In China, you need to go back and explore every province. You need to see this beauty with your own eyes – so good luck!
